Alabama Cottage Food Labeling Requirements

What You Need to Include on Your Label

  1. Name of Product
  2. Statement that the product was made in an uninspected kitchen
  3. Name of Business
  4. Business Address

Please Note:

  • Most business addresses must be where the product was made. No PO Box numbers allowed.
  • You may list sub ingredients (also by weight) in parenthesis after an ingredient.
  • ALL ingredients must be listed, including commercial products.
  • Net amount is listed in weight and preceded by “Net wt”.
  • Some states require your weigh scale to be tested.

Alaska Cottage Food Labeling Requirements

The label must go on each product, but the statement “THESE PRODUCTS ARE NOT SUBJECT TO STATE INSPECTION” can either be placed on the label or on a prominent placard at the point of sale. The name, address, and phone number can be replaced with the business license number.

What You Need to Include on Your Label

  1. Product Name
  2. Business Name
  3. Business Address
  4. Business Phone Number
  5. Statement the product was made in an uninspected kitchen.

Arizona Cottage Food Labeling Requirements

You may use an email address instead of a phone number. If the product is made by individuals with developmental disabilities, it must be listed on the label. Ingredients must be listed from highest weight to lowest.

  3. Name of Business

  6. List of ingredients

Arkansas Cottage Food Labeling Requirements

Cottage foods can’t include nutritional information on the label. Ingredients must be listed from highest weight to lowest.
